LW-ASA (Lightweight Foaming ASA) 3D Printing
Active-foaming ASA that expands as it prints, producing parts at roughly half the weight of solid ASA. Adds ASA's UV and weather resistance to the lightweight approach of PLA Aero, so it suits outdoor RC aircraft and parts that live in the sun.

LW-ASA: common questions
What is LW-ASA good for?
LW-ASA is a common choice for outdoor rc aircraft, lightweight outdoor housings, drone shells, automotive trim prototypes. Active-foaming ASA that expands as it prints, producing parts at roughly half the weight of solid ASA. Adds ASA's UV and weather resistance to the lightweight approach of PLA Aero, so it suits outdoor RC aircraft and parts that live in the sun.
How strong and heat-resistant is LW-ASA?
Printed LW-ASA parts have a typical tensile strength of 15–25 MPa and heat resistance of ~95 °C. These are typical values for printed parts in the XY direction; strength between layers is lower, so orientation matters for loaded parts.
How big a part can you print in LW-ASA, and how fast?
Up to 350 × 320 × 325 mm in one piece; larger parts are printed in sections and joined, after a review. Production takes 2-5 business days, and rush service is available.
