Magnetic PLA (Iron-Filled) 3D Printing
PLA loaded with fine iron powder, so parts are attracted to magnets (they are not magnets themselves). Heavy, cold to the touch, and can be rusted deliberately for an aged-metal finish. More brittle than plain PLA.

Magnetic PLA: common questions
What is Magnetic PLA good for?
Magnetic PLA is a common choice for magnetic mounts & holders, educational demos, aged-metal props, weighted parts. PLA loaded with fine iron powder, so parts are attracted to magnets (they are not magnets themselves). Heavy, cold to the touch, and can be rusted deliberately for an aged-metal finish. More brittle than plain PLA.
How strong and heat-resistant is Magnetic PLA?
Printed Magnetic PLA parts have a typical tensile strength of 25–35 MPa and heat resistance of ~55 °C. These are typical values for printed parts in the XY direction; strength between layers is lower, so orientation matters for loaded parts.
How big a part can you print in Magnetic PLA, and how fast?
Up to 350 × 320 × 325 mm in one piece; larger parts are printed in sections and joined, after a review. Production takes 2-5 business days, and rush service is available.
