TPU: common questions
What is TPU good for?
TPU is a common choice for gaskets, phone cases, vibration dampeners, wearables. Flexible, rubber-like material with excellent abrasion resistance and elasticity.
How strong and heat-resistant is TPU?
Printed TPU parts have a typical tensile strength of 30–50 MPa and heat resistance of ~80 °C. These are typical values for printed parts in the XY direction; strength between layers is lower, so orientation matters for loaded parts.
How big a part can you print in TPU, and how fast?
Up to 350 × 320 × 325 mm in one piece; larger parts are printed in sections and joined, after a review. Production takes 2-5 business days, and rush service is available.
